“When you own your breathing, nothing can steal your peace”
Last month after our seminar with The Muscle Doc- Dr. Jordan Shallow, he and I spoke about the power of breathing. He covered its importance in fitness and powerlifting but our conversation was much deeper. Both Jordan and I used and still use breathing to control our anxiety, to improve our sleeping and to calm our minds. I credit my focus on breathing and meditation as the biggest step in changing the direction of my life.

This drill from Andrew Whale of Harvard is one of my favourites. Use it if you find yourself stressed or anxious – it is also great for helping you to fall asleep.
Focusing completely on your breath, breathe in for 4 seconds filling your belly. Hold for 8 seconds, then breathe out for 8 seconds. Repeat 2 – 4 times and you will immediately feel better.
