We are excited to announce that Coach Austin will be taking over as our Director of Training!

As part of our growth, we are increasing the capacity of key members our team with an overall mission to improve the experience and progress of our members. It is also our goal to create greater opportunity for our staff to grow and develop their passion into a career with us.

Austin will handle our group training programming as well as our new semi-private training programs. He will also be tasked with providing continuing education to the rest of our team and ensuring the consistency/quality of our coaches.

Austin is highly educated in athletic performance, health and fitness and has been mentored to take over this very important position for the better part of the year.

If you can’t squat on one leg, then you shouldn’t squat on two!

Think about it - much of your daily movement uses just one leg at a time. This is one of the main reasons why we program so much unilateral work into our Garage Gym training. One legged work not only promotes healthy knees and hips, but it also creates the balance and stability necessary to keep your low back healthy and strong. In the gym world, unilateral strength will help you avoid shifting towards your strong side when performing a back squat and will keep your knees from diving in during a heavy deadlift.

Last week we awarded our 6 Week Transformation Champs. This year's 6WT featured 3 different tracks "Avatars". @kelleydender took home the hardware in the Sculpt division which focused on body composition and performance.

The small town rumour mill was right about this one!

We are excited to announce that we will be moving to 89 Murray St - right in the heart of the proposed Anchor District. Our new headquarters is being completely renovated, literally from the ground up. It will feature two massive glass garage doors, vaulted ceilings with skylights and other amenities that just weren't possible during our humble journey from passion project to a multi-facility business.

Our vision is to create a place that symbolizes the growth of The Garage Gym Army since opening in our single car garage in the monopoly subdivision over 8 years ago.

Here are a few other facts to satisfy the local FB gossip groups..
🤫 We have loved every minute of our time at the corner of Richmond and Sandwich, we have simply outgrown the limits of our current facility
🤫 We will have plenty of parking and have a solid plan designed to keep all of our services uninterrupted
🤫 Our current landlord is not kicking us out, we are leaving with nothing but mutual respect. Our landlord has been completely supportive of our family and our business for the past several years and is in full support of this next step in our journey 🫱🏻‍🫲🏼
🤫 It's none of my business what the future holds for that corner, but I can say with absolute certainty that the owner of our old building continues to strive to make Amherstburg beautiful and believes in a community that supports local business.
